Thoughts

“All that we are is a result of
what we have thought,
it is founded on our thoughts and
made up of our thoughts.”

Thoughts

If everyone would follow the lyrics of the Bob Dylan’s song
and act to everyone in need of some support
no matter what race, religion or LGBT orientation,
less individuals would feel abandoned.
Help people through this month and give them a happy time

Thoughts

Bob Dylan Make You Feel My Love
When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry you tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I’ ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I‘d go hungry, I ‘d go black and blue
I’d go crawling down the avenue
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rollin’ sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

Thoughts

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered

“Man…. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die,

and then dies having never really lived.”

Nature disasters relocater

I am from the Netherlands -what is in the name- we live about 3 meters below sea level. Apart from that we have a low risk for disasters. But how to forecast natural disasters and extreme weather if you become a flying Dutchman? I made good preparations when I went to Berkeley, California. I informed myself what to do when one of those many earthquakes would occur in the San Francisco Bay area. Than I volunteered with the evacuation team for the Oakland Firestorm. I did not experience any earthquake back then until I went home to Amsterdam. I experience the awakening at 3.20 o-‘clock by the only noticeable earthquake in Northern Europe. December 26th, 2004 I decided not to join my friend to PhiPhi but traveled to Chiang Mai where I was awakening at 7.58. Coming from the Netherlands I did not expect getting into trouble by a flood in Thailand. The most lugubrious problem in Thailand is that we run out of water…safe drinking water that is.

Online

At last online again. After 4 months of being disconnected to the internet I am back again. It is really nice that the provider decided to disconnect the place I stay. If you are not connected to internet life is much more quiet and moderate. On the other hand we become aware of the power the internet provider has to rule over your life. Better stay friends with big brother who is not only watching you but also pushes all in control in our modern virtual society. The good thing is that in four months I missed so much that you can say I missed nothing. Everything on the internet is perishable. Good to keep in mind if you write a blog 😉

Guards leading the way

In Kuala Lumpur every condominium has it’s own guards. If you have only an address take a taxi. As in New York most taxi drivers are Indian-Malay, but here they speak the local language. So my taxidriver asked several guards for directions to my friend’s condominium. Then he pointed to the next building, better I should walk from here because otherwise the ride would cost must more. I showed the address to the guard. “Do you see the other entrance gate straight ahead? From there you have to cross the street and your condominium complex is next” he said. WAIT, since you are not a visitor for this complex’ s resident you have to stay outside, climb up the next hill and side pass this complex. I got no right of way. This is how guards are leading the way.

Low cost carrier

Traveling around the world is easy. Now everyone can fly according to Airasia. Low cost carriers offer cheaptickets.nl In Europe it is the law that airlines advertise the all-included fares. Not so for asian airlines. Buying a ticket to Asia will end up in double the price that are published. If you are aware of that then it might be no problem. Since I travel a lot I thought AirAsiaX would be a good option for long distance flights. If you have to order your meals and blankets separately that gives you more freedom to modify your flight. After boarding the plane during the safety instruction it was told that rafts are available at every exit door except for exit B on the wings.?? Checking my chair it turns out that I have no life jacket. I did not know that I had have to order those separately. Always double check the safety equipment. Next time I go sailing by boat again.
